As part of our commitment to advancing emergency medical care, we launched the Emergency Medicine Update and Training Program on January 13, 2025. This program aims to enhance the skills of medical personnel working at Nigeria’s airports, to reduce mortality rates and improve patient presentations to emergency rooms. The initiative began in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
This comprehensive training program includes a dedicated team from FAAN, consisting of two doctors, six nurses, and two laboratory scientists. The program combines practical rotations, specialized lectures, and hands-on diagnostic training, ensuring that participants acquire both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience.
Program Highlights
Clinical Rotations:
-
Doctors and Nurses: Participants will rotate through our Emergency Room, clinics, and wards, gaining exposure to various medical cases while learning from experienced healthcare providers.
- Laboratory Scientists: They will undergo hands-on training across our state-of-the-art laboratory sites, enhancing their diagnostic proficiency.
Expert-Led Lectures:
In addition to practical experience, FAAN medical personnel will attend lectures delivered by expert physicians, covering critical topics such as:
- Epidemic Management: Essential for port health services, ensuring preparedness for infectious disease outbreaks.
- Emergency Response Protocols: Enhancing the team’s ability to act swiftly and effectively during medical emergencies.
Ultrasonography Training:
Participants will also engage in hands-on ultrasonography sessions, which will equip them with essential diagnostic skills for more accurate and timely patient assessments.

Through this program, we aim to strengthen emergency healthcare delivery within our hospital walls and across Nigeria’s airports, where timely medical interventions can make all the difference.
We are proud to partner with FAAN in this life-saving initiative and look forward to seeing how these newly acquired skills will transform patient care across the aviation sector.
